Ride of the Valkyrie Figure
This statue proudly displays one of the fierce Valkyrie, who chose who would die in battle. Those they have chosen were taken up into the halls of Valhalla, to live there among the rest of the noble slain. It was there that they became Einherjar, and lived and hunted and trained and hardened themselves for the coming last battle of Ragnorok, where they would fight by the side of Odin and many of the other Norse deities in what would be their last battle.
For this, the Valkyries reward them, bearing them mead and tending to the wounds of their preparations. Here she is portrayed astride a charging horse and girded for war, with her cloak and hair flying loose behind her and a Norse sword raised high above her head. Perhaps riding fearlessly across the battlefield, she seeks a warrior brave enough to take back to the fabled halls of Valhalla.
Wrought of cold-cast resin in exquisite detail, the whole statue stands approx 11" tall and 10" in length, and has been hand painted to give this heavy weight piece the look and feel of bronze.
This is a fantastic statue for anyone who loves the Norse traditions or has cause to admire the Valkyrie`s noble spirit.
The photo does not do this item justice - in person it looks truly stunning and is an incredible piece.
